We decided to spend some time at the Pima Air Museum on New Year's Eve day. I wasn't too enthusiastic about it.....until we got there. I was totally amazed at some of planes, and the history behind them. It's the best collection of this type in the World. Story about what they did in combat and the stories behind them. We also went aboard Air Force 1, the one John Kennedy used. It was left exactly like it was when it was in service. There were other newer Presidents planes, but we didn't see inside them. What a way to end the year!!!
The SR-71 Blackbird. Out of the over 200 planes at the Pima Air Musuem, this one really got my attention! It could fly Coast to Coast in 68 minutes and a few seconds. At 80,00 feet, it could take a clear picture of a car license plate! I won't bore you here with other specs, but it was truly amazing and flew over Mach 3.2 air speed. The actual speed is still classified information. If you'd like to know more about this plane, click here.
